Programme Description
In response to the alarming depletion of green areas, both urban and rural, Ek Roshni plans to spearhead the Green Growth Initiative, a multifaceted effort aimed at environmental rejuvenation. Focusing on fruit-bearing plants, our initiative not only replenishes green cover but also offers communities sustainable resources. By organizing tree plantation drives, we engage local residents, fostering a sense of ownership and responsibility for environmental conservation. Through education and community involvement, we strive to cultivate a culture of environmental stewardship, ensuring the longevity of our efforts. Our approach is holistic, addressing both ecological and socioeconomic aspects, as fruit-bearing trees not only benefit the environment but also provide nutritional and economic sustenance to communities. This initiative serves as a catalyst for positive change, empowering individuals to become proactive agents of environmental preservation. For effective execution, we will leverage schemes of government and support from funding or donor partners as well as community structures.
The target is to plant around 800 trees in first year and a total of 2000 by the end of second year.
